Rostock, on the north coast of Germany, is known for Rostock University, the Botanical Garden and in the old town, the Gothic St. Mary's Church. Schwerin is the state capital of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern and is known for Schwerin Castle, a neo-Renaissance palace with ornate rooms and elaborate gardens.

Set off directly from the port in the morning on this amazing full-day adventure in northern Germany. Begin your journey as you make your way to Rostock and upon arrival be provided a brief panoramic tour by bus. Next, it's time to discover this medieval gem by foot with your local, knowledgeable and friendly guide. Rostock is a city straddling the Warnow River on the north coast of Germany and is known for Rostock University, founded in 1419. In the old town, the Gothic St. Mary's Church features a 15th-century astronomical clock. Nearby is the cobblestone Neuer Market main square and Rathaus (town hall), which mixes Gothic and baroque styles.
Walk by the town hall, down boulevards, past the University, view the town wall and gates, monastery, and merchant's homes. Make an inside visit to St. Marien (St. Mary's) Church and see the world-famous astronomical clock and baroque organ. If time permits, you may also be provided brief leisure time to continue to explore on your own.
By now you will have worked up an appetite, so next on the agenda is a delicious lunch of local fare. Your lunch may be in Rostock or in Schwerin depending on the day and availability of venues.
Continue by bus to Schwerin for an inside visit Schwerin Castle where you will be provided a tour guide or audio-guide depending on availability plus a stroll through the palace gardens. Your tour group is kept to no more than 26 guests at a time to ensure a more intimate experience in a smaller group. Schwerin is the state capital of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern in northern Germany and is known for the castle, a neo-Renaissance palace with ornate rooms and elaborate gardens. The castle sits on an island in Lake Schwerin, one of several picturesque lakes.

Prior to joining Abercrombie & Kent, Mr. Miller held a variety of executive positions with Royal Caribbean International and Celebrity Cruises for more than a decade. These positions included Vice President of Guest Sales & Service, Vice President of Brand Development, and Vice President of Onboard Revenue (which included shore excursions). Mr. Miller also led Celebrity Expeditions, a collection of outstanding and unique tours around the World.
Michael Bonner
Mr. Bonner has over a decade of experience working in the cruise industry in a variety of roles for both Royal Caribbean Cruises Ltd. and Viking River Cruises. Most recently, Mr. Bonner was the Chief Operating Officer for The Scholar Ship, a Royal Caribbean program aimed at providing college students onboard educational programs in conjunction with enriching shore excursions around the world. Mr. Bonner also helped co-manage Viking River Cruises U.S. Operations, and he ran the corporate, strategic, and deployment planning functions at Royal Caribbean.
